Workshop

Science Workshop 2018 Report

Tuesday

The Science Workshop 2018 started on the 13th of February. Early in the morning 40 students made their way to Zurich International School.

After welcoming all the students, it was time to start working on the chosen problems. While some students had already started working on their problem prior to the Workshop and were ready to start further experimentation, others were new to the problems and had to research their problem statement further before being able to conduct experiments. By the afternoon everyone was working eagerly.

Science Workshop 2018

To aid students in their preparation we are organizing a three-day preparatory Workshop. During this Science Workshop students work on their chosen problem while being supervised by SYNT-experienced coaches.

The SYNT Science Workshop will take place from the 13th to 15th of February at the Zurich International School (ZIS) nearby Zurich. Problems 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be coached at the Science Workshop.

In addition to profiting from experienced coaching for the chosen problem, students are also introduced to the structure of Science Fights and the specific roles of the Reporter and Opponent.

We are excited that Nanolive will demonstrate the students their unique 3D Cell Explorer at the Workshop.

The Science Workshop is organized with the support of ZIS.

SYNT Science Workshop

In addition, you will get to meet other participants and take part in different fun activities.

The Science Workshop 2018 will take place between the 13th and 15th of February at Zurich International School. Please note that for organizational reasons only the problems 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will be offered during the Workshop.

All costs (incl. accommodation, food, transportation) will be covered. Should you require a confirmation of participation or should you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Science Workshop Report

Wednesday
In the morning, the participants arrived from different regions of Switzerland as well as the Principality of Liechtenstein. They were welcomed at Zurich main station and guided to the Science Lab at the University of Zurich. After a general introduction, the participants had time to discuss their ideas on how to approach their problems. In the afternoon, they followed up with first experimental investigations.
